Lisbon, Portugal

We toured The Most 'Instagrammable' Places in Lisbon

Lisbon is a city rich in history and beautiful architecture. We hired a local photographer to take us around to some of the most Insta-worthy spots… plus, I added a few of our own.

Miradouro de Santa Luzia

Miradouro de Santa Luzia is a viewpoint that offers beautiful panoramic views of the city and the Tagus River.  It is a must see if visiting Lisbon, surrounded by blue tiles and brilliant blooming flowers. It is worth noting that this location does get very crowded so bring your patience, the photos are worth the wait.

Comercio Square

Praca do Comercio is Lisbon’s main square and located across from the river. The wide open square offers plenty of room to roam. The “Door to Lisbon” ~ Arco da Rua Augusta, the huge arch which leads to the shops is lined with arches providing a stunning backdrop for photos.

Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara

Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara is another beautiful viewpoint in Lisbon as it looks out over the city center of Lisbon, Castelo de São Jorge and the Tagus River. Located in the Bairro Alto neighborhood, it is a popular neighborhood for restaurants and exploring.

Bica Funicular

Bica Funicular runs between Rua de São Paulo and Calçada do Combro and the trolly's are a lot of fun to watch. It takes a bit of good timing to snap a photo right as the trolly goes by, so be sure you have your camera ready as the funiculars only go by every 15 minutes.

Dear Breakfast & Floral Wall

Dear Breakfast is one of the top tourist spots to eat in Lisbon so be prepared to wait in line - even with a reservation we waited a good 15 minutes in line. It is located in Alfama, which is my personal favorite area. The breakfast is very good but the service is VERY slow. Personally, I was underwhelmed, but the location is great and this floral wall was nearby which was another great photo op.

Best seat in the house!

Lisbon Cathedral

The Se de Lisboa is the oldest church in the city and one of the most beautiful. Need I say more? Take a moment to enjoy inside as well.

Rocco's Restaurant

Rocco's restaurant opened in 2021 and is located in the Ivens Hotel. It is one of the top restaurants in Lisbon and it is visually stunning! An absolute MUST for dinner or just a drink - definitely Insta-worthy! *And ladies, be sure to use the restroom, it's wild!

YUM!!

I could sit hear all night long…

Waiting for our Uber…
Which by the way, during our stay in Portugal, always arrived within 2-3 minutes and only
cost a few dollars. It's the next best thing to a personal car service!

There are many, many more spots to explore - but I hope this was helpful in giving you a little bit of a feel for the beauty of Lisbon.

Iceland Weekend Getaway

Iceland was Magical!

And so easy to get to, who knew? The hot springs were a once in a lifetime experience with a swim up mud mask bar as well as an actual bar. The City was easily walkable and filled with great food and nice people. Unfortunately, our Northern Lights tour was cancelled ~ but this gives us an excuse to visit again!

Our trip to Portugal was a dream! Porto and Lisbon were beautiful and bustling and the Azores are a nature's paradise. I highly recommend visiting this country as it was absolutely gorgeous and filled with nice people, great restaurants and lots to do, affordable and easy to navigate.

This is a bit of a hodgepodge of photos from our time in Lisbon, Porto and the Azores (Sao Miguel).

Talk about fresh!

Off to Sao Miguel from Lisbon

Fun fact: Sao Miguel has 2 cows for every human.

I hope this gave you a small taste and feel of what Portugal has to offer. Again, I highly recommend it as a vacation destination! Cioa~
